Little Hippies' Art Camps run during the school holidays and are for ages 5 - 14 and our Micro Hippies' Camps are for ages 2 - 5, although we are happy to be flexible with ages to accommodate siblings - please ask. Based in Dirleton Kirk Hall we will be visiting the nearby Secret Den in the Woods where we will be foraging for natural materials to use in our art projects both in the outdoors and back at our "base camp" in the hall. Recreating Van Gogh's Starry Night, learning the Japanese art of Hapa-Zome, making shadow portraits and nature printing bags for life are just a few of the exciting activities we have planned. We will be swinging in hammocks, looking out for our local wild deer and we may even hug a few trees! 

All art activities are inspired by The Woodland Trust and Learning Through Landscapes pedagogy but we are also all about inspiring the children to make their own nature art so there will be plenty of opportunity for self expression and free play in nature. If the weather is particularly bad we may have to use pre-collected natural materials but otherwise we will aim to get outdoors to be inspired by nature, to collect materials and to make art "en plein air". This will be in the garden of the hall or in the nearby secret den in the woods - just a few minutes walk away. The secret den has been fully risk assessed and is also checked before each visit.
